Our counselors will help you analyze and understand your problems and the causes of your problems, just like other counseling practices. We will help you identify harmful thoughts and beliefs, helping you replace these with healthy ways of thinking. You will learn new, more effective skills and healthy behaviors. Our counselors will help you map the patterns of your interactions with your partner or family members, and guide you in altering the patterns that are causing emotional pain and harm. But we are not satisfied with stopping there.
We go beyond traditional counseling through using transformational prayer approaches in the counseling process. This means that, with client permission, we help the client dig down to the wounds and pains that lie at the very bottom of self-destructive beliefs and behaviors. We believe that we can do much good work in helping you cope with and manage your negative thought patterns, painful emotions and inner wounds. However, only God is able to enter into the very place, the memories and emotions of past events, that you experienced as painful.
We go beyond traditional counseling through using transformational prayer approaches in the counseling process. We help the client dig down to the wounds and pains that lie at the very bottom of self-destructive beliefs and behaviors.
The counselor acts as a bridge between you and God. We seek to gently, safely position the client in prayer, to be open to the Holy Spirit’s healing presence at the source of a client’s pain—their wounds. When you believe you are ready, we will help you encounter God’s love and acceptance as you revisit a source of pain in order to do what traditional and secular counseling is not equipped to do: allow God to touch you with His comfort, His healing, and His acceptance in the very place where you struggle and hurt.
This is a process, and our counselors seek to be sensitive to the movement of the Holy Spirit, while we seek to focus on Christ, not our counseling techniques and strategies. Transformational prayer is not a technique. It is an encounter between persons: the client, God, and the counselor. This approach is based on the principle that everything God touches, He heals. God may reveal lies you adopted as a result of painful events. He will assure you of your value, of His love for you, and help you get rid of the lies. This is a real meeting with God. This is how the symptoms of your wounds go away, along with changes in thinking, emotions and acting.
